Jet Ski Training Built on Real-World Experience

JETEFX provides structured, safety-focused jet ski training led by Mark Gomez, a five-time World Champion with over 17 years of experience across freestyle competition, freeride progression, racing, and live performance environments.

This is not casual ride-along coaching. Training is built around proper technique, equipment awareness, risk management, and long-term progression. Every session is tailored to the rider’s goals, learning style, physical ability, and experience level so progress continues well beyond the lesson itself.

Riders from around the world travel to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to train with JETEFX. Whether for a focused single session or a multi-day training experience, the goal is the same: measurable improvement with confidence and control.

Who this

Training Is For

JETEFX training is designed for riders who want to improve with intent and structure, including:

  • Recreational riders seeking confidence, control, and strong foundational skills
  • First-time stand-up jet ski owners building correct habits from the start
  • Riders interested in Rickter hulls or builds who want to maximize performance and value
  • Freestyle and freeride riders progressing toward aerial maneuvers
  • Junior through adult riders preparing for racing, freeride events, or judged freestyle competition
  • Riders transitioning into shows, exhibitions, or performance-based riding

All training is adjusted to rider experience level, physical readiness, and equipment.

Training Expectations

JETEFX training is physically demanding and requires focus, repetition, and a commitment to the progression process. Riders must be comfortable in the water, including swimming and brief submersion for backflip courses and all freestyle-level instruction. Participants should be capable of repeatedly mounting, standing, and recovering a stand-up jet ski without excessive fatigue. This is not a rental-style experience or a casual ride-along session. Training is structured, intentional, and designed to build skill safely, correctly, and progressively.

Coaching with Real-Time Waterproof Communication

JETEFX training protocols utilize Cardo waterproof wireless communication systems integrated into the training helmets provided during lessons. This system establishes an open, instructor-controlled line of communication, allowing for continuous real-time instruction while on the water. Live feedback enables immediate corrections, precise timing adjustments, and clear reinforcement of proper technique. This approach accelerates progression, reduces repetition errors, and helps riders build correct movement patterns faster and more confidently. The result is a more efficient, engaging, and effective training experience designed to get the absolute most out of every session.

Traveling to Train With JETEFX

JETEFX training is based in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, a destination riders from around the world travel to for focused, high-quality progression. Lake Havasu City is approximately a two-hour drive from Las Vegas International Airport (LAS). Most international and out-of-state guests fly into Las Vegas, rent a car, and enjoy an easy desert drive into Havasu. Training typically takes place at Body Beach, with sessions scheduled in the morning hours when water conditions are calmest. Morning sessions are also less busy, making it more likely to have the riding area to ourselves. This creates a focused environment with uninterrupted repetitions and minimal shoreline or boat traffic. Can't make it to Lake Havasu? We also travel to you.

How Progression Works at JETEFX

Training progression at JETEFX is evaluation-based. Advancement is determined by technique, consistency, and safety readiness rather than time spent at a given level. Advanced freestyle and elite-level instruction require prior evaluation and instructor approval.

Backflip Training

Program Focus

This training builds confidence before rotation ever happens. - Understanding watercraft response and control - Mounting and dismounting efficiently without exhaustion - Wake selection and reading water conditions - Entry speed, setup style, timing, and throttle discipline - Body positioning, rotation mechanics, and mid-air awareness - Controlled landings and clean ride-outs - Each element is coached step by step to reduce guesswork and unnecessary risk. Backflip Training

Real-Time Wireless Coaching

Backflip training utilizes Cardo waterproof wireless communication systems integrated into the training helmets provided during lessons. This open, instructor-controlled line of communication allows for real-time instruction throughout every phase of the maneuver, including approach, takeoff timing, body position, rotation, and landing. Immediate feedback helps correct mistakes as they happen, reinforces proper technique, and builds confidence through clear, continuous guidance. This real-time communication is a critical part of safely progressing toward consistent, controlled backflips and maximizing the effectiveness of each training session.

Backflip Training

Equipment

Training is conducted on a JETEFX-built 1200cc Rickter XFS freestyle platform, purpose-built for controlled aerial progression. The ski, setup, and fuel are provided. Equipment balance, setup, and adjustment are intentional parts of the lesson and explained throughout the session so riders understand not just what works, but why it works. Fuel is included.

Backflip Training

Evaluation Required

This program is evaluation-based. Riders must demonstrate foundational control and consistency before progressing into inverted maneuvers. If additional fundamentals are needed, JETEFX will guide riders through the correct path rather than forcing progression too early. The goal is long-term progression, not rushed results.

Backflip Training

Who This Is For

- Riders progressing from freeride or basic freestyle - Riders preparing for competition or judged freestyle - Riders who want to learn backflips correctly the first time - Riders seeking confidence, not shortcuts

Backflip Training

How to Prepare

You do not need to arrive flipping. You do need to arrive riding comfortably. To get the most from this training, riders should: - Be confident riding a stand-up jet ski in varied conditions. - Be comfortable mounting, standing, turning, and recovering without fatigue. - Ideally be proficient at a 180 slide to tail stand and recovery, which provides a major advantage. Most riders who struggle skip fundamentals. Proper preparation means more time flipping and less time fighting balance.

Testimonials

(translated) Introduction - I always thought I knew how to ride a freestyle Jetski, today I realized how important it is to learn from the professionals and fix bad habits. Today I passed one of my strongest experiences in jet skiing - freestyle coaching by one of the best riders in the world, Mark Gomez. Your ability to help me freestyle correctly is inspiring. You're an amazing professor, an excellent guide, an incredible personality, your sea bike Rickter-RRP is crazy and accurate, and I don't have enough words to describe how much I enjoyed it. Anyone interested in learning freestyle Mark is your contact. Mark, I thank you for this day.
- Yoav Yehie
Training with Mark Gomez at Jetefx was a game changer for me. I had only ridden my Tigercraft M1 (760 engine/148 pump) twice before working with him, and the progress I made in just a short time was incredible. Mark helped me dial in my setup wake, timing, and overall technique in a way that immediately translated on the water. The Cardo communication system made coaching seamless and extremely effective. He even gave me valuable setup recommendations for my ski that will continue to improve my performance. I highly recommend Jetefx to anyone serious about advancing their freestyle riding.
